🪵 Stump Grinding & Removal

Professional stump grinding across Clacton and Tendring

After a tree is removed, the stump left behind can be an eyesore, a trip hazard, and a potential source of regrowth or fungal infection. Stump grinding is the most effective way to deal with it.

Our referred arborists use professional grinding equipment to reduce the stump to below ground level, leaving wood chip mulch behind. The area can then be turfed, planted or paved over as desired.

✓ Below ground level ✓ Area ready to replant ✓ Wood chip mulch left

🍃 Common questions

About Stump Grinding & Removal

Can I remove a stump myself?,Small stumps can sometimes be removed manually but it's hard physical work. Larger stumps really require professional grinding equipment. Attempting to burn or chemically treat stumps is less effective and not recommended.
How deep does stump grinding go?,Typically 150–300mm below ground level — enough to allow the area to be landscaped or re-turfed. Your arborist can go deeper if required for hard landscaping.
Are the arborists you refer properly qualified?
Yes. Every arborist in our network holds current NPTC qualifications and carries public liability insurance. We verify this before anyone goes on our referral list.
What areas do you cover?
We cover Clacton-on-Sea and the wider Tendring district including Frinton-on-Sea, Walton-on-Naze, Harwich, Manningtree, Brightlingsea and surrounding villages. See all areas.
